After Wild Card Weekend, we have updated our power rankings, with one small adjustment. After defeating the Seattle Seahawks and the return of starting quarterback Jared Goff, we have moved the Los Angeles Rams into the top 5, bumping down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a hair:

  1. New Orleans Saints
  2. Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Green Bay Packers
  4. Baltimore Ravens
  5. Los Angeles Rams
  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  7. Buffalo Bills
  8. Cleveland Browns

We still are not buying the Cleveland Browns as true Super Bowl contenders. Our EPA model actually has them ranked as the 13th best team, whereas the other remaining 7 teams still in contention for the Super Bowl are ranked 1-7. However, if the Browns continue to dominate the turnover margin like they did against the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend, anything can happen. Based on our ratings, we also would not be surprised if the Packers are upset by the Rams at Lambeau this weekend, or if the Ravens manage to earn another playoff road win at Buffalo.
